Vacuum Filters Unites Best Choice for Clarification, Filtration and Sterilization in Your Biological Laboratories
What Are Vacuum Filters?
Disposable Vacuum Filters Unites are designed for large volume filtration or sterilization of buffers, culture media, and other aqueous solutions. It work similarly to other types of vacuum filtration systems, relying mainly on vacuum negative pressure as a driving force to achieve solid-liquid separation. Here's how it works in detail:
Basic principle
By generating negative pressure, the vacuum filter bottle forms a pressure difference on the upper and lower surfaces of the filter cake, which is used to drive the liquid in the suspension through the filter medium (such as the filter cloth) to be pumped away, and the solid particles are trapped in the filter medium, so as to achieve the effective separation of liquid and solid.
Membrane Solutions Vacufil™ Disposable Vacuum Filters Unites are a standalone filtration unit that combines a graduated reservoir. They are ideal for when a self-contained, pre-sterilized, disposable filtration unit is required.

Available with PES, Cellulose Acetate and PVDF membranes in various pore sizes for the sterile filtration of biological and aqueous fluids, tissue culture media and buffers.
The range is available in filtration unit, bottle top filter, or receiver bottle.

What Are the Features?
● Single Use and Gamma Ray pre-sterilized
● Sterile graded 0.22um membrane: LRV>7 for Brevun dimonas diminuta, ATCC19146.
● Biosafety: Meet USP<87>, USP<88> Non-pyrogenic, Nuclease-Free, low extractables and surfactant-free ensures purity of filtrate.
● Extreme-low Protein Binding <1.5% (PES) Excellent Thoughput, for faster filtration and more process volume.
● GL45 threads accepts commonly used bottle style Ergonomic design for convenient use and stable Filtration Glass fiber pre-filter is available.
Where do We Use Vacuum Filters?
● Sterilization or clarification for biological aqueous liquids from 150ml to 2 liters
● Clarification of cell culture fluid
● Remove mycoplasma from biological liquids
How to Choose Suitable Membranes?
Polyethersulfone (PES) membrane is used for filtering culture media, as they exhibit fast flow rates and low protein binding.
Hydrophilic (PVDF) membrane is very low protein binding and used for filtering protein solutions.
Cellulose acetate (CA) membrane is ideal for filtering biological samples and culture media containing sera, as they exhibit very low protein and macromolecule binding.
Nylon (NY) membrane is hydrophilic with broad chemical compatibility and are recommended for applications requiring very low extractables. It can exhibit high protein and small molecule binding and is not recommended for biological samples, but can be used for filtering protein-free media.

Conclusion
In summary, the working principle of vacuum filter bottle is to form a pressure difference on the upper and lower surfaces of the filter cake through vacuum negative pressure, so as to promote the liquid in the suspension through the filter medium to achieve solid-liquid separation. This process includes liquid extraction, solids retention, cake formation, washing, dehydration and cake removal and is suitable for a variety of suspension filtration needs.
